Another World Running Record For Thule Active with Kids
The 2021 edition of the Guinness World Records Book has just been published. We are both happy and proud to see another world record with one of Thule's strollers. British Sally Onn is the fastest woman in the world when she ran 10 km with her daughter Elodie in a Thule Chariot Cross and posted a time of 41 minutes and 33 - shaving almost one minute off the previous record.
In October last year France-based runner Sally Onn, a runner and mother-of-three from the UK, crossed the finish line of the “Les Foulées du Saint Jean 10km” race in South-West France and into the famous record book, which has just recently been published in print.
Using the Thule Chariot Cross with her two-year-old daughter Elodie inside, Sally posted a time of 41 minutes and 33 – shaving almost one minute off the previous record.
“It’s hard for me to put in words what this achievement means to me. I have, at times, struggled with reconciling my role as a mother to three young children with my dreams and ambitions. Running with the buggy enabled me to find myself again and pursuing this Guinness World Record gave me a goal and sense of purpose that felt like a secret superpower,” said Sally.
“The beauty of this record is that it is so much more than a simple sporting achievement: it is a wonderful celebration of motherhood – of how far your body has come since the grueling changes of pregnancy, childbirth and breast-feeding; of your mental fortitude as you look after your child’s best interests while all the time running your heart out – and a true team endeavor between you and your tiny buggy passenger.”
We wish Sally all the best and, who knows, maybe another record attempt soon!
