This weekend, the film about our big-wave surfer and Thule Crew member Garrett McNamara, "100 Foot Wave", was announced the winner in the category '2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards. A big congratulations from all your friends at Thule Group!
Garrett McNamara is an American professional big wave surfer and long-time member of the Thule Crew. He is known for surfing the biggest wave ever at Nazaré in Portugal. Garrett has worked close to us at Thule in many contexts, participating at fairs, modeling photo shoots as well as being a part of product development. Above all, Garrett and his wife Nicole are close to us as genuine and passionate people who are passionate about what they truly believe in. With their constant work and love towards a healthy and nonpolluted ocean, we at Thule are proud to call them our partners.
The film '100 Foot Wave' was awarded the '2022 Creative Arts Emmy Award' for ‘Outstanding Cinematography For A Nonfiction Program - 2022' and got nominated for 'Outstanding Documentary Or Nonfiction Series - 2022'. The '100 Foot Wave' is an American documentary television series directed by Chris Smith, revolving around Garrett as he traveled to Nazaré, Portugal, to find and conquer a 100-foot wave, to push the sport of surfing beyond what was ever believed. The documentary premiered on HBO in July 2021.
