Quality Inspector - Milford, CT - 7:00-3:30pm

JOB SUMMARY:  The inspection of materials, purchased or produced by Thule, to determine if materials meet or exceed all specifications and requirements.  Inspection includes receiving goods, first piece, non-routine (layout) and finished goods.  Inspector will create and maintain inspection records. Inspector will perform product audit and maintain records.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain databases, records and logs in accordance with ISO/IATF standards.
  • Perform incoming inspections of raw material, cartons, labels and purchased parts.
  • Perform re-inspection tasks. Verifying product. 
  • Update database with new revisions and requirements.
  • Help create or improve and implement quality systems, processes and programs.
  • Assist warehouse resolve any quality problems.
  • Assist Quality Associates in assigned job functions.
  • Maintain equipment in accordance to Metrology procedures and instructions.
  • Update inventory status. (Q.C. Hold, RTV, Rework, etc.).
  • Conduct audits of kitting / packing.
  • Perform audits of customer orders/shipments to verify all items are present and packaged to prevent damage during shipping.
  • Conduct product audits of finished goods, RMA/Repack and OE Kitting areas at EDC warehouse.
  • Review, disposition of RMA / repack area product – both visual inspection and system movements.
  • Other functions as required and assigned by supervisor.

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3-5 years experience or equivalent work experience in the inspection and/or quality profession.
  • Strong understanding of inspection methods and techniques and understanding and implementation of receiving goods sampling, auditing techniques
  • Basic quality tools – calipers, pin gages, micrometers, visual inspection
  • Must be mechanically proficient including the use of basic hand and power tools.
  • Computer literate in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint).
  • Computer literate in ERP system
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
