Junior Design Engineer – Kit
Thule Sweden AB, Hillerstorp
Bring your Life
Want to join a dynamic team creating products that make it easy to bring what you care about - securely and in style - while living an active life? If you're a team player who thrives in a sustainability-driven environment and wants to shape products that inspire an active lifestyle, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
You’ll be part of an innovative and growing product category within Active with Car, with several exciting launches ahead.
What you’ll do at Thule
In the role of Junior Design Engineer - Kit, you will be a part of our global Roof Rack Design Engineering team who are responsible for scanning, developing, and evaluating car adaptations for our various roof rack systems worldwide. This role reports to the Manager Design Engineering.
You will develop new products and components with high quality within the targeted cost budget and time plans to meet the market requirements of our consumer. Every car has unique conditions when it comes to design, shape, and strength in the interface between the car and the roof rack which means we have to develop unique Kits for every new car model worldwide.
In addition, you will be evaluating technical solutions with respect to manufacturing methods, strength requirements, and cost. Since a fast time-to-market is crucial for our roof racks, it’s important that you enjoy working hands-on, take ownership of your projects, and drive them forward independently. With the tools and technology available, your role as a Junior Design Engineer becomes both varied and fast-paced, with a strong focus on practical problem-solving, speed, and precision.
The work involves close contact with car importers and car companies in Europe and other parts of the world. This means that travel within Europe will be a part of the work.
What you bring
To be successful in the role as Junior Design Engineer - Kit, we believe that you have
an Academic Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. You have documented technical knowledge in PDM systems and CAD (preferably SolidWorks). In addition, you are fluent in Swedish and English, where knowledge of German is seen as an advantage.
As the role involves practical elements, we assume that you thrive in environments with hands on product development. Since the job includes traveling, both in Sweden and Europe, we presuppose that you have a driving license for a car and could travel up to 20-30%.
Why you should join Thule
At Thule, we believe in strong teamwork - both within your own team and across departments. We strive to be an open and curious organization where knowledge is shared and inspiration flows freely.
Above all, we are looking for a curious and open-minded team player who enjoys problem-solving and wants to contribute to meaningful progress.
