When the lifts to the French ski slopes were closed, but the desire to enjoy great skiing was strong, the French bike brand Yuba Bike France created a new, smart way to get on the piste. Meet the Yubabike Spicy with a Thule twist.
Yuba bike is one of the leading longtail bikes in France.
The design team at Yuba Bike design center, at the foot of the French Alps, did not want to accept that you could not get out in the slopes. They took on the challenge to find an alternative way up at the mountain.
Their challenge was based on the ambition to be able to offer their customers a way of transportation that would allow them to reach the ski resorts and slopes without using their motorized vehicle. The team created a concept that was built around their Yubabike Spicy, the bestselling long tail bike in France, and Thule Snowpack ski carriers to carry 4 pairs of skis, or 2 snowboards on the back of the bike. You carry your boots in a backpack, or in the front mounted bike basket.
The pre-production series last year was successful and is now to be followed by a limited edition series for the 2022 season.
