Stakeholder dialogue and materiality analysis
We continuously update our materiality analysis and in 2021, we conducted a comprehensive stakeholder dialogue with customers, suppliers, shareholders and employees to identify the most essential sustainability issues as a basis for our continued efforts. Stakeholder dialogues show that focus was primarily in three areas: greenhouse gas emissions, human rights and energy.
It is clear that interest in sustainability has increased. The most important issue for stakeholders is reducing greenhouse gas emissions from energy usage and using renewable energy sources.
Within human rights, child labor as well as healthy and safety and discrimination are the most prioritized areas for stakeholders.
Stakeholder dialogues also confirm that they believe that Thule Group focuses on the appropriate targets from the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In terms of improvement years, 73 percent of the respondents expressed a hope that within the near future, Thule Group will publish its goals and strategies for reaching net zero emissions. We intend to do this by no later than 2023, according to the new framework from SBTi.
The study also indicated that Thule Group can improve at communicating its ambition and its work towards a circular business model.
